Julia MacDougall is VP of Payer Strategy.
Julia has worked in managed care for 25 years and has extensive knowledge of: provider contracting, network management, provider relations, market analysis, and project management. She started her career in the healthcare industry with Aetna, moved on to UnitedHealthcare, and most recently spent 10 years as the Director of Network Management at Cigna; where, she responsible for contracting with hospitals, doctors, and ancillary providers. She helped reduce overall medical costs while building and maintaining successful business ties with the hospital, doctors, and ancillary providers.
Julia also has diverse experience in negotiating both value-based contracts and typical fee-for-service contracts. Value-based arrangements that she oversaw included primary care, specialist, and hospital models. Julia also advised providers regarding approaches to maximizing quality outcomes yielding positive revenue impact.
