Carol Hiatt is a Registered Nurse, Certified Operating Room Nurse, Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager and Certified Surgery Center Administrator.
As a independent Clinical Consultant, Carol brings a rare combination of clinical and operational experience that sets her apart from other consultants in healthcare. As a Certified Registered Operating Room nurse, operations leader, certified risk manager, regulatory compliance expert and current AAAHC accreditation surveyor, she can help move an ASC or office based surgery vision to reality. Carol has experience in opening 100’s of ASC’s across the nation and internationally, which adds a layer of resident industry knowledge to guide projects from conception to success.
Carol has been employed in ASC leadership as since 1990. Her experience includes over 17 years as a full-time ASC Nurse Administrator and 27 years as a Certified/Licensed Health Care Risk Manager in the ambulatory surgical setting. Since 2007 she has worked as an Independent consultant guiding all avenues of facility development, operational excellence, leadership development, licensure, accreditation, Medicare, Infection Control, as well as state and federal regulatory compliance. Carol’s specialties include spine, orthopedics, gastroenterology, pain management, and ophthalmology.
Carol received her associate degree in nursing from Central Florida College in 1988 and her BSN at The University of Central Florida in 2012. She has been a part-time accreditation surveyor for AAAHC since 2008 and served on various working committee’s with AAAHC since 2011.
